ViewESOL Level 2 Award - Writing
This 3-month course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your writing skills in the following areas:
Build confidence in writing skills
Improve your planning skills before writing texts
Write different types of writing texts in an informal and formal context
Develop your knowledge of punctuation
Improve grammar and vocabulary
You will learn in an adult-only environment from expert teachers with English language teaching experience.
Improving your English skills and getting an ESOL certification is a good addition to your curriculum vitae and a great way of demonstrating your language skills to prospective employers.
Mosaic Beginners
Make a stunning and unique art mosaic of 22cm square/22cm diameter circle. In this 5 week course, you will learn how to use mosaic tools and techniques to create a unique direct method mosaic. You will have access to a wide range of glass and ceramic tiles and one to one advice to help you bring your design to life. The first session will focus mainly on design and the last session on grouting and polishing. The three middle sessions will be when the bulk of the mosaic is laid.
Absolute beginners Upholstery Class - 1 Day Course
The course is a basic introduction to the joys of upholstery, learning some simple techniques and an understanding of what materials are used in that chair you’re sitting on.
Hardware and Networking - Level 2 Certificate in Digital Skills OCNLR
This hardware and networking course is underpinned by CISCO academy materials from IT Essentials you will develop an understanding of hardware and networking concepts in this intensive course which will also give you an opportunity to gain a certificate from CISCO.
ESOL Level 1 Health and Social Care Course
This course will help you to:
- Gain confidence in your English Speaking, skills through class discussions which will allow you to practice pronunciation of words you already know and learn new ones.
- Develop basic numeracy skills through class based mathematical tasks.
- Gain confidence in your English writing skills through class-based and assessment writing tasks, through which you will practice your spelling and sentence structure.
- Gain more confidence in reading to others by taking turns to read class materials to your peers.
On completion of this course you will be able to progress to other courses, in childcare or health and social care that will support you to find employment within either of the sectors.
Digital Skills - Award for Everyday Life (Entry 3)
The qualification aims to enable learners with limited existing digital skills to develop the to safely access opportunities presented online to improve their lives. Learners will learn how to develop their practical skills through step-by-step confidence building learning experiences that will act as a springboard to further learning and raised aspirations.
This course also prepares for progress to the Level 1 qualification (OCNLR Essential Digital Skills Qualification Level 1) which will give you the IT skills needed to move into administration, office or secretarial work.
Jewellery - Studio for Makers
This workshop is focussed on independent learning and is designed for learners at intermediate level, to continue to develop their technical and creative skills in jewellery independently. The session is untutored however, guidance and support will be provided by a qualified technician.
Digital Filmmaking - Introduction
This intensive course across two Saturdays will aim to provide you with the practical and theoretical knowledge of all aspects of filmmaking from shooting to editing. You will be taught how to make a short narrative, documentary or experimental video using a DSLR camera, your smartphone or any other video camera you have access to and Adobe Premiere Pro for editing.
