Advanced Practice - Glass
Over the past few years we have detected a shift in demand among those studying at RAS at higher levels, away from qualifications towards a more practical, skills-based but nevertheless challenging and analytical provision.
In response to this change in demand we have developed a range of new Advanced Practice pathways in popular disciplines. From January 2020, self-motivated makers and artists will be able to develop and extend their own explorations in art & design; pathways include Painting & Drawing, 3D Ceramics, Glass, Photography and Film Making (see individual course outlines for pathway-specific content).
These courses are especially designed for those who want to become practising professionals. Consequently, throughout the course there will be a strong emphasis on developing your individual creative professional practice, including organising group exhibitions and arranging the sale of your work through the college gallery. You will be expected to work independently and structure your own learning with tailored guidance and feedback from your tutor.
This course is delivered over two terms from January to July and lead to an RAS Certificate in Advanced Practice*.
*RAS Awards and Certificates are issued independently by RHACC and are non-accredited.
