This woodwork course is for you if you are a more experienced and confident student, to help you develop your own projects in class.
Photography - Level 1 Award
This Level 1 qualification course gives you the opportunity to discover and explore photography using digital cameras to produce creative images successfully. It will give you the opportunity to explore photography processes and techniques along with contextual links between photography and historical art genres using appropriate visual language including still life, portrait, landscape, composition and other formal elements.
Once completed you will receive the UAL Level 1 Award in Art, Design and Media.
An Introduction to Drawing
This short course is ideal if you are a complete beginner and would like to try drawing in a supportive environment. It will give you a general introduction to drawing and wou will be taught how to observe and record line and tone using a range of materials. Ceramics Handbuilding and Throwing - All Levels (Eve)
This course is designed to let you follow your preferred style of making. You will be shown a range of techniques, and once you have mastered each technique you can choose how you would like to form with clay. Pinching, building with soft slabs and throwing will be covered for the beginners.

ViewLife Drawing All Levels
You will learn a range of beginners to advanced drawing techniques to use in life drawing, including line drawing, tonal studies, perspective and looking at anatomy. You will find out about different historical, global and contemporary approaches to figure drawing.
You will become familiar with the construct of a traditional life drawing studio and gain confidence in this environment.
You will learn how to use a range of materials to draw the figures from charcoal, to pencils and ink.
If you are a returning learner you will:
Have access to continuing drawing practice with a model and in a formal life class.
Be able to organise your own approach to life drawing practice if preferred.
Wax Carving and Casting for Jewellery
Most jewellery casting today uses a variation on the lost wax method developed in ancient Egypt.
This Course will teach you how to model/carve and mould wax. The wax will then be cast into silver using the ‘Lost wax casting process’
During the day you will have a chance to cast silver using ‘Cuttlefish’ and ‘sand casting’. These cast elements could then be used on their own, or be used as an element on another piece of jewellery. Ceramics - An Introduction to Making
This 6-week course has been designed for complete beginners or those with very limited knowledge of clay. It takes learners through studio inductions and teaches hand building fundamental techniques progressing skills through the course. Weeks 1 and 2 introduces the studio and studio processes beginning with press moulding a bowl. Week 3 moves on to slab building; week 4 is pinch pots and coiling; week 5 concentrates on refining and adding decorative texture to your projects with the final week 6 introducing how to glaze and to complete all projects.
The tutor will take you through each stage of the process using printed handouts and class demonstrations. Class critiques and discussions are encouraged to promote creativity and individual expression.
There is no throwing on the wheel in this course.
