A UK report from the Lloyds Bank Consumer Digital Index found that 27% of adults still have the lowest digital capability. The Skills funding agency has predicted that 90% of job roles in the next 10-20 years will require competent use and knowledge of information technology, it is more crucial than ever that people improve their computer skills if necessary, both for their own personal and professional advancement and for business purposes
This qualification would be ideal for anyone who would like to develop their knowledge, understanding and competence in a range of different IT skills, particularly those who use IT in their current job role. Learners must already have basic IT skills and basic knowlegde of Microsoft Offi ce software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), to be able to complete the course successfully.
Course Content
This course is split into five manageable units:
Unit 1: Using IT to increase productivity
Unit 2: IT software fundamentals
Unit 3: IT security for users
Unit 4: Presentation software
Unit 5: Spreadsheet software.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date. You must have Level 1 English skills (e.g. Functional Skills English). If you are not able to produce evidence of an English qualification, you will be required to take a short assessment. To ensure this course and style of learning is suitable for you, we will also require you to complete a short course application and attend a brief [online] interview. You must have access to the necessary I.T equipment and internet service to study on this course. A PC, laptop or tablet is recommended.
First Class Requirements
You will be learning online but should be adequately prepared to create word processed documents to complete your assignments.
Attendance Requirements
This course is conducted via Distance Learning you will submit all assignment work through the learning platform to a fixed schedule . You will be assigned an assessor and you will receive feedback via the learning platform. 16
Assessment Methods
You can study at your own pace but must stick to the assessment schedule provided on the platform.
Further Study Options
