I run a photography business, but I wanted to do something that helps people, so I decided to study the level 2 CPCAB Introduction to Counselling course. I live close by in Surbiton and often walked past the Hillcroft campus, and when realising they had the Counselling course there, I applied. I like its location and the fact that it's quite a small college. It's a warm, welcoming environment. I am really enjoying the course so far. It is really well organised and I hope to be a qualified counsellor and move on to Counselling L3.

I appreciate the diversity at RHACC and other students I have met, all have been pivotal in my growth. The course is helping me to reflect on myself and my own perceptions of the world around me and those in it. The course is also supporting my in learning about supporting others in a professional way. I have learned a lot about diversity and how to listen better. I am hoping to move onto a L3 Counselling and progress onto do a degree in addiction and psychology. I am receiving so much encouragement and support from all of my peers in my group and learning so much. I feel supported and relaxed with my tutor and he really goes the extra mile in ensuring we are aware of all criteria in the qualification and supporting us to succeed. I feel extremely happy to have the class members and tutor I have.

I worked in publishing and decided on a career change after that. I wanted a course where I could interact with real people and something where the qualification is broken up into attainable segments. The CPBAB course worked really well. The teaching is excellent and the learning support really makes a difference. I feel like the lessons are taught with the approach of no student left behind - they make sure everyone is confident and comfortable with a topic before moving on. I've met some fantastic people on my course. It's very focussed on getting you a qualification that is right for you and ultimately supporting your career goals. I have also received career advice from my tutors which has been a great addition to my course.
