Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) - Level 3 Diploma (NCFE CACHE)

If you have your level 2 in Early Years and want to work as a Room Leader, Deputy or Manager the this is the course that Ofsted require you to do. You will already be employed in an Early Years setting and will be assessed in your workplace by one of our assessors.

Course Content

This course will be delivered as e-portfolio course supported by weekly classroom based workshops. You will study the following topics,

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

You must be working for a minimum of 3 days per week in an Early Years setting. You should have a level 2 Early Years qualification or relevant qualification at level 3 or above plus sufficient experience of working in Early Years. Ideally, you will have either a good GCSE in English or Functional Skills in English but it is possible to do the GCSE or Functionally Skills at the same time as your Early Years course.

Attendance Requirements

Attendance at online sessions and classroom sessions are mandatory.

Assessment Methods

Your written work will be assessed on line by your tutor/assessor. You will be allocated one of our assessors who will come to your workplace and will carry out direct observations of your work with children and families. You will plan to have three or four of these observations during the course.

Further Study Options

On successful completion of the level 3 (and the GCSE s/Functional Skills) you will be able to work as a Room Leader, Deputy Manager or Manager, depending on your experience. If you want to continue with your studies you can do the Early Years Foundation Degree, then the BA and gain Early Years Teacher Status.

Additional Information

You will need access to a computer to do the online part of this course. Remember that Ofsted will not count you as a level 3 in ratio until you have completed the full course plus your GCSE or Functional Skills in English. During your course you can enrol on Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety, Safeguarding and Infection Control and also on amazing workshops covering Puppet Making, Makaton and Story Telling with Neil Griffiths.
