This course is a classroom and blended learning programme in collaboration with Amazon Web Services. Individuals graduating from this course are equipped with valuable cloud infrastructure and software skills preparing them for careers in the cloud.
Individuals gaining these skills will be ready for roles in several areas, including: Data Centre Technician, Technical support, Automation of simple tasks through Python scripting, Basic networking configurations and debugging, Simple AWS Core Services configurations
This course track is designed to prepare learners for the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification exam, and to be job-ready for entry-level cloud positions. This exam is available at an external test centre with an exam price the instructor can advise you of.
Course Content
AWS Core Services and infrastructure components;
How to monitor, measure and report on infrastructure load and performance; Designing, coding and testing simple programmes/scripts using Python and Bash; Configuring basic network components;
Database maintenance and security configurations.
You will also build professional skills such as communication, time management, and collaboration.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Entry is by tutor approval only. Students should ideally have a good general knowledge of IT and may be working in the IT industry or changing careers. Students should have at least 4-6 hours per week for independent learning to keep up with the reading and practical content
Learners will need a good standard of literacy and numeracy prior to considering this course.
First Class Requirements
A memory stick to save work electronically.
A folder to keep handouts and printouts of work produced.
Pen to complete written documentation
A computer to run packet tracer software (check the system requirements for this online) - PC is preferred.
Attendance Requirements
All absences need to be reported as this is a vendor qualification course. If you are aware of any commitments that will cause you to be absent please let the Tutor know as soon as possible.
Assessment Methods
Each cohort of learners will be taught by accredited trainers to complete their cloud training. Through scenario-based learning, hands-on labs, and coursework, learners can gain the technical and soft skills they need for an entry-level cloud role.
To graduate, individuals must demonstrate the required knowledge, understanding and practical skills. Learners will be assessed at the end of the course through the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification exam.
