Course Content
This course covers:
Introduction to BSL: Basic vocabulary, handshapes, and grammar.
Conversational BSL: Practical phrases for everyday conversations.
Communication in BSL about everyday life: Discussing topics like family, hobbies, and work.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

You need to have completed an Introduction to British Sign Language course (usually 10 weeks duration minimum).
You will be assessed by the tutor to ensure the course is suitable for you.
First Class Requirements
Please bring a pen and paper or your electronic device if preferred.
Attendance Requirements
Regular attendance is advisable as if you miss a class, you may miss important new signs.
Assessment Methods
Your progress will be monitored through class participation and homework assignments. You'll also complete formal unit assessments, which will be filmed and externally marked by Signature examiners. Successful completion of this course can lead to further BSL qualifications.
Please note that any appeals against grades must be addressed to Signature via the college's examinations officer and will incur an additional charge.
