Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Suitable for complete beginners and inexperienced writers.
Competence in spoken and written English.
First Class Requirements
Something to write with, whether pencil and paper, laptop, electronic notebook or even phone.
Learners will be asked to complete a very short, simple writing exercise in the first class, not to be
formally assessed but as a basis for discussion.
Attendance Requirements
Each session deals with a key aspect of writing - describing a character, writing a plot, writing
dialogue, describing a scene for example - so it?s important not to miss one of these essential
topics. Also, completing the assignment each week is a key component of the course.
Assessment Methods
You'll complete a short, simple writing exercise in the first class as a basis for discussion. This isn't formally assessed, but helps the tutor to understand your goals. We encourage you to share your progress with the tutor throughout the course. The natural progression is to our other Creative Writing courses, which are aimed at more experienced and confident writers.
