Digital Skills - Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel - Introduction

This beginner-level course provides a comprehensive introduction to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Learners will gain essential computer skills to create, edit, and format documents, design presentations, and use basic spreadsheet functions. No prior experience required.

Course Content

Through a hands-on approach, learners develop fundamental skills to create professional documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.

- Introduction to Word and its features
- Document formatting, editing, and formatting
- Creating tables, headers, and footers
- PowerPoint basics: interface, slides, and layouts
- Designing visually engaging slideshows
- Excel fundamentals: interface, cells, and data entry
- Formatting spreadsheets and managing worksheets

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

No prior experience is needed. Learners must be over the age of 19 at the point of enrolment.

First Class Requirements

Pen, paper and a memory stick for saving work electronically.

Attendance Requirements

100% attendance is required.

Assessment Methods

Personal Learning Plan (PLP) and practical activities and outputs.

Further Study Options

Progression to further courses in computing, including Office Skills and Essential Digital Skills.
