You’ll learn to see flowers in a new way, capturing their shapes, shadows, and patterns. Discover how to dissect a flower and draw it from every angle. By the end, you’ll have a portfolio of hand-drawn and painted images ready for textile design.
You will:
Learn to observe and draw flowers with a focus on shape, perspective, and tone.
Explore the layers and angles within a flower to create unique drawings.
Develop a series of strong images suitable for textile design.
Create colour studies and abstract interpretations using various mediums.
Work entirely by hand, using traditional drawing and painting techniques.

Analysing Shape and Perspective
Exploring Shadows, Tone, and Pattern
Drawing Flowers from Multiple Angles
Developing Images for Textile Design
Colour Studies and Abstract Interpretations
You will:

You must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Some prior knowledge of art materials, tools and techniques is required.
You'll receive informal, supportive feedback in group critiques at the end of each session. Your tutor will also provide individual verbal feedback as you work. This course can lead to further study in textile design or other art-related fields.
Please bring with you images that inspire you and any materials that you would like to work with.
Materials are included but you must pay for paper which is available in class.
