This introductory qualification is perfect for anyone who wants to teach learners aged 16 and above in further education, adult education, or workplace settings. You'll gain the essential skills and confidence to deliver engaging and effective training sessions.

Course Content

This course covers:
Roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training: Understanding your role as an educator and building positive relationships with learners.
Inclusive learning and teaching approaches in education and training: Creating a supportive and accessible learning environment for all.
Assessment in education and training: Learning how to effectively assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
Micro-teach: A 30-minute practical teaching session on a subject of your choice.
Reflective Learning Journal: Weekly reflections on your learning and its impact on your teaching practice.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

To join this course, you need to meet the following requirements:
Be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Have a GCSE in English at Grade C/4 or above, or Functional English at Level 2.
Demonstrate the potential to study at a level equivalent to A-levels.
Possess excellent subject knowledge, experience, and qualifications (at least Level 3) in your chosen teaching subject.

First Class Requirements

Bring suitable note-making equipment. You might wish to bring a pad or lap top device.

Attendance Requirements

This is a very short, intensive course so it is important that you are able to attend all of the sessions.

Assessment Methods

You'll be assessed through written assignments, observation of your teaching practice, peer assessment, self-assessment, and evaluation of your reflective practice. We use a digital learning platform where you can upload your work and build your course portfolio. Successful completion of this course can lead to further study in education and training, such as the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

Further Study Options

Once you have completed this course, you can undertake the Level 3 Understanding Principles and Practices of Assessment to qualify as an assessor

Progression to the Diploma in Education and Training is possible if teaching work is gained

Additional Information

We expect you to attend weekly sessions regularly, submit assignments on time, and be motivated to succeed. You'll need to dedicate at least 3 hours per week to study outside of the taught sessions. We're here to support you every step of the way!
