Want to improve your English and cooking skills at the same time? This fun and informative class is perfect for you! You'll build confidence in speaking and listening, expand your cooking vocabulary, and develop your reading skills through recipes. You'll also increase your knowledge of dishes from different cultures. This course is for anyone looking to improve their English while learning new culinary skills.
Course Content
This course covers:
Speak to be understood using appropriate simple language
Use clear pronunciation
Use new cooking vocabulary in speaking opportunities
Relay simple cooking instructions
Plan trips using appropriate language
Have the opportunity to lead a session with a dish from your culture
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
We offer courses at all levels, from complete beginner to Level 2.
You will need to take an English language assessment before starting the course. This helps us place you at the right level.
First Class Requirements
Please bring a folder to keep your work in, a black or blue pen, and a lined notepad of paper.
Attendance Requirements
To successfully complete this course, you must commit to 100% attendance and punctuality.
Assessment Methods
Your teacher will assess your progress throughout the course. If you're ready, you can enrol on an examination course next term to gain a qualification.
Further Study Options
After this course, you can continue to study on our ESOL Speaking & Listening or Writing courses or go on to do a higher-level course.
When you have finished your ESOL course you may want to progress into the wider programme offer at RHACC including Cambridge Certificate courses, GCSE English courses and our range of vocational and leisure courses.
We will also provide support with applying to university and careers guidance to help you decide on your options following the completion of the programme.
