Course Content

This course covers:
Discovering the myriad possibilities of clay as a medium for creating sculptural works
Learning some methods for hand-building in clay
Using the material as a means to transition between flat imagery and 3D form
Working in clay to make a series of maquettes - small, sketchy pieces which provide a basis for more developed, larger scale artworks
Introducing a range of tools to assist in modelling the clay and for applying texture to the surface
Creating a dialogue between various areas of creativity

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

This course is for all levels however, some prior knowledge of art materials, tools and techniques is required to make this a more beneficial experience.

Assessment Methods

Each session will conclude with informal, supportive group critiques, giving you the opportunity to share your work and receive constructive feedback. Throughout the course, your tutor will provide individual verbal feedback as you work on projects and participate in discussions.
