Why Study This Course?
Our courses follow a communicative approach which will give you the skills to communicate effectively in French in everyday situations, such as ordering in a cafe. Classroom activities in pairs and groups will help you acquire speaking and listening skills and the basic rules of pronunciation, and you will also develop your reading and writing skills. There will be an introduction to simple grammar (articles, masculine and feminine, singular and plural, present tense of the most used verbs).
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Spell your name and other words in French and ask how to spell a word
- Count up to 100 in French
- Ask and answer simple questions about personal information
- Order in a cafe using simple food and drink vocabulary
- Use simple classroom language in French to communicate in the classroom e.g. classroom vocabulary & basic questions/instructions
This is a course for complete beginners with no previous knowledge of the language.
Learners will discuss their goals with the tutor who will assess their progress during the course through in-class observation and a range of activities. You will record and reflect on your progress in your Personal Learning Plan (PLP).
In your first lesson, the tutor will give you details of the textbook you will require.
