This Level 5 course will provide you with:

Eligibility to apply for Qualified Teaching and Learning Status (QTLS) upon completion, if applicable.
Have GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or Level 2 Functional Skills) in English and Maths.
Possess a good working knowledge of IT.
Hold a relevant qualification in your area of specialism, at least Level 3.
Be employed or in a placement that allows you to evidence:
150 hours of teaching practice (minimum 20 hours live online/remote).
100 hours of non-teaching practice (e.g., meetings, CPD).
Two qualified mentors (subject specialist and pastoral), providing 30 minutes of weekly mentoring.
20 hours in a different placement or location.
10 lesson observations from a subject specialist.
Not have a criminal background that prevents working with young people or vulnerable adults.
Your progress will be assessed through written assignments and your e-portfolio, which includes evidence of your teaching practice. Qualified assessors in your employer or placement organisation will observe a minimum of 10 of your lessons/training sessions (one hour each). Upon successful completion, you can explore further qualifications in education or advance your career in teaching and training.
Please note that there will be on site or online sessions with the course tutor once a month on Wednesday evenings.
Please review the 'Entry Requirements' section for complete details. This course requires employment or a placement to meet evidence requirements. You'll need to commit at least 860 hours to directed study, in addition to attending sessions, completing assignments, and uploading portfolio evidence.
A suitable IT device with webcam and audio is needed for online tutorials, remote lessons (if applicable), and uploading your work to the digital platform.
Please note that tutors may occasionally be changed at short notice. While teaching styles may vary, we ensure consistent quality across all of our courses. For this reason, a change of tutor does not qualify for a refund.
