Are you interested in designing your own garden? This short course explores the exciting opportunities and challenges of garden design. You'll develop your creative skills and learn to maximise even the smallest spaces using planting and design techniques. This course is perfect for anyone wanting to transform their outdoor area.
Course Content
The course will cover:
Garden design styles and elements from traditional formal to contemporary meadow gardening
Garden survey techniques to enable you to draw up your garden using scale for accurate planning
Different methods of conveying your ideas from mood boards to technical drawings
Researching plant choices and landscape materials
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
No prior experience is required.
All are welcome to join this introductory course.

First Class Requirements
Please bring in photos of your own outdoor spaces that you would like to design to share with the group. You will also need to bring some paper, pencil and pen to take notes and sketch as the course progresses.
Assessment Methods
Your progress will be monitored through your Personal Learning Plan and tutor feedback. We'll discuss options for further study to help you continue developing your garden design skills.
