Ready to take your German skills to the next level? Building on Beginners Stage 1, this course will boost your confidence and help you communicate more effectively. You'll learn about sentence structure, verb conjugation, and how to express your likes, dislikes, agreements, and disagreements. Through engaging audio and video resources, you'll also explore German culture. This course is perfect for anyone wanting to expand their German language skills and cultural understanding. The course is taught by a native German speaker.

Course Content

This course covers:
Words used to link ideas, e.g. and, but, also
How to ask questions
The basic rules of pronunciation
Cultural aspect
Simple structures to express like / dislike
Present tense / timeframe with frequently used verbs / structures
Basic numerical data

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Completion of Beginners Stage 1.
Alternatively, if you have not previously taken a course in this language at RHACC, please complete the self-assessment Level and Placement test found on our website.

First Class Requirements

Please bring a pen and paper or your electronic device if preferred.

Attendance Requirements

Regular attendance is advisable to ensure maximum progress.

Assessment Methods

Your tutor will discuss your goals with you and assess your progress through in-class observation and activities. You'll receive feedback and guidance throughout the course. We use tutor input, group work, and a range of resources to match different learning styles. Homework will be given after each session. This is not an exam course. After completing this course, you can enrol on Post Beginners Stage 1.
