
Glass Jewellery & Accessory Workshop Short Course

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the art of stained glass on a small, wearable scale. Over the course, students will learn how to design, cut, and assemble unique jewellery pieces and accessories using traditional stained-glass techniques.
With guidance from an experienced tutor, participants will create their own beautiful and functional works of art that capture light and colour in a distinctive way.
Course Content
What You’ll Learn:
Introduction to stained glass tools, materials, and safety practices
Basics of glass cutting, shaping, and grinding for small-scale projects
Applying copper foil and soldering techniques
Finishing methods for durability and shine
Designing small accessories such as pendants, earrings, brooches, Rings and keyrings
Tips for combining glass colour’s and textures to enhance design

Beginners with no prior stained-glass experience
Craft enthusiasts looking to expand their skills
Jewellery makers interested in incorporating glass into their work
Anyone who enjoys hands-on creativity and making unique, personalised items
Course Format:
Duration: Half-day or Full-day
Teaching style Demonstration, guided practice, and one-to-one support, Handouts
Outcome: Each participant will leave with at least one finished stained-glass jewellery or accessory piece of their own design
Materials & Tools:
All specialist materials and tools will be provided. Participants may bring their own design ideas for inspiration.

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Please note there is an additional cost of approx. £50 - £100 for materials on this course.
First Class Requirements
Please come to the class with paper and pencils, an apron and wear closed-toe shoes.
Attendance Requirements
Regular attendance is required. Please contact the tutor if you are unable to make the class.
Additional Information
No food or drink is allowed in the studio; a nearby hub area is available for snacks and drinks. You will need to pay for materials used from the college. Please note there are additional costs involved on this course for materials, this includes: Lead, Solder, copper Foil, Cement, Firing, Donated Glass and New Glass. Details will be provided in the first class. You may bring your own materials, but on-site storage is not available. Please allow 15 minutes at the end of each class to tidy up.
