Course Content

This course covers:
Understanding Camera Controls: Learn what the controls on your camera do and how to set them
Basic Photography Principles: Explore how photography works and the digital functions on your camera
Focusing Options: Discover various focusing options to improve your photography
Image Composition: Learn how to compose images effectively
The Role of Light: Understand the role of light in photography
Image Review and Editing: Review your photographs, transfer them to a computer, and resize/crop them
Aperture, ISO, and Exposure: Learn to understand Aperture, ISO and Exposure
Landscape Photography: Learn how to shoot landscapes effectively
Lines and Patterns: Learn how to work with lines and patterns in photography
Capturing Movement: Practice how to capture and freeze movement with shutter speed
Portrait Photography: Learn how to set up and improve portraits

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

No photography experience required.
Ability to use a computer is an advantage.
Level 1 literacy and numeracy recommended.

Attendance Requirements

You will benefit from regular attendance and punctuality.

Assessment Methods

You will receive verbal feedback during the session and participate in group discussions. This course can be a stepping stone to further photography courses to enhance your skills.
