Curious about eSports? Want to develop an eSports team, play competitively or organise eSport events? This immersive introduction aims to spark your interest in the vibrant world of eSports. You'll gain a comprehensive understanding of the eSports industry, develop practical skills in gameplay, streaming, and management and prepare for various roles within the eSports ecosystem. You can even join our very own competitive eSports team - Richmond Rangers! Sessions involve learning about eSports, watching games and playing in our purpose-built eSports lab.

Genres and Gaming Titles
Successful eSports teams
Coaching and Playing
Player development and skills training
Identifying key skills for eSports success: reflexes, strategy, and adaptability
eSports events
Legal and Ethical Issues in eSports
Streaming and Content Creation
eSports Management and Organisation/ Marketing and Sponsorship
Tournament Design and Management
Future Trends in eSports
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
The eSports introduction will allow you to connect with like-minded individuals, whether you are a casual player, experienced gamer, or are just looking to get into gaming in general.
You will need to have some experience playing computer games and sufficient IT skills to be able to navigate websites and game systems.
First Class Requirements
You can bring your own computing equipment such as a specialist keyboard, controller, headset/mic. If you do not have these they will be provided by the college.
Attendance Requirements
Attendance at all sessions is expected
Assessment Methods
You will be assessed through developing an individual development plan which will monitor your progress and give you feedback on in class activities.
Further Study Options
Students have completed digital marketing courses, or gone onto qualifications that lead to degrees in eSports or Games design/development. Look into our Access to HE qualifications or Creative media qualifications to find out more.
