Want to take your jazz skills to the next level in a supportive and relaxed environment? Jazz Workshop 3 is designed for musicians with some experience who want to develop their ensemble playing and improvisation. You'll learn new tunes, improve your rhythmic and harmonic awareness, and have a lot of fun with a friendly group of fellow musicians. All instrumentalists and singers are welcome! This course will help you grow your confidence and musicality.

Course Content

This course covers:
A repertoire of Jazz Standards, contemporary tunes, and funky well-known pieces.
Reading music together and playing by ear.
Understanding chords, scales, and basic jazz theory.
Rhythmic development and jamming techniques.
Gentle, optional homework including listening, composition, or solo preparation.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

You need to read music to at least a basic standard.
This course is best suited for musicians who have reached a good level on their instruments and are looking to develop their skills further.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is relaxed and informal, usually through tutor-led class feedback. You'll also receive individual feedback from the tutor during the sessions. We'll discuss options for further study based on your progress and interests.

Please bring your own instruments.
Backline equipment is provided if required.
