Managing your Personal Finances

The aim of the course is to provide you with an understanding of managing their personal finances including reviewing different types of bank accounts, mortgages and investments.

Course Content

We will review areas including:
- Savings looking at reasons why people save, ways to save money and financial products relating to savings such as savings accounts, bonds etc
- Investments reviewing possible investments including shares, property and precious metals
- Borrowings reviewing reasons for taking out personal loans as well as mortgages and the different types of mortgage products available

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.

There are no formal entry requirements but learners must have a good standard of English and Maths.

First Class Requirements

Pen, paper and calculator.

Regular attendance is required to ensure you have the relevant knowledge to help you manage your personal finances.

Additional Information

As a result of the government’s closure of schools and colleges, some of our courses will be delivered through remote learning including video conferencing, (using Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
