This course is suitable for those who want to develop their numeracy skills to support their development in working with data or towards developing a career in data science. It is also useful for anyone wishing to develop their skills with excel to work with more complex data related operations.

Course Content

On this course you will learn about

?? the data analysis process - use excel to explore an existing data set

?? learn how to cleanse data and use Vlookup and 10 other useful functions to create and manage flexible data sets

?? using mathematical functions to analyse datasets

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

If you?re aged 19 and over and don?t have Maths GCSE at grade C (or equivalent e.g. Functional Skills Level 2), this course is free and will help you to build your confidence with numbers
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you should be ideally working towards Level 2 Maths.
Your level will be assessed prior to starting your course by taking a BKSB assessment within the college you should have a score less than BKSB Functional Maths 2.9

You should have an existing awareness of basic arithmetic and a basic understanding of excel - for example the interface, how to enter and format data, how to sort and filter data. If you do not have this look at our excel introduction or excel 1 day courses.

Assessment Methods

There is no formal assessment for this course. However, you will create and review your own Individual Learning Plan.
