You'll learn various techniques and approaches in a friendly and supportive environment. Course Content
This course covers:
Barnes as Inspiration: Focus on images found in and around Barnes, including buildings, street scenes, people, trees, parks, and the River Thames.
Working from Images: Use photographic images as a basis for your artwork.
Outdoor Sketching: Weather permitting, enjoy occasional outdoor sketching sessions.
Drawing Techniques: Explore techniques using pencil, coloured pencil, pen & ink, conté, and crayons.
Painting Techniques: Learn about pastel, watercolours, gouache, and acrylics.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Assessment Methods
There is no formal assessment for this course. However you will set personal targets with the tutor and review these during, and at the end of the course.
This includes tracking your own practice through written notes and the tutor's written responses, gaging your progression and personal development through the course using Personal Learning Plans.
Additional Information
Protective clothing is advisable. You will need to provide all your own art materials and pay for any suggested visits to galleries and museums. Paper is available to buy in class.
