
Photography for Beginners

Want to take better photos? This introductory course will give you the practical skills and confidence to capture amazing images. You don't need a fancy DSLR; a compact camera or even your smartphone will do!
This course is designed for carers. If you would like to enrol on an eligible course as a Carer then please visit reception where one of our staff will be able to assist you.
Course Content
This course covers:
Understand different camera types (including smartphones)
Learn how to hold a camera steadily
Composition Techniques and rule of thirds
Using natural lines to guide viewers’ eyes
Framing your subject within the scene
Explore shooting during different times of day (e.g., golden hour)
Understand how light affects your photos
Portraits: Basic composition and natural light
Brightness, contrast, cropping
Sharing your work
Basic copyright awareness
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
No photography experience required.
