Want to explore your creative side through photography? This Level 1 course is your chance to discover and master digital photography. You’ll learn how to use digital cameras to create stunning images. Explore photography techniques, processes and the connection between photography and art history. This course is perfect for beginners and will help you develop your visual language. Upon completion you’ll receive the UAL Level 1 Award in Art, Design and Media.

This course covers:
Camera Controls: Learn focus, exposure, and shutter speed techniques
Technical Issues: Explore depth of field, natural and artificial lighting, and white balance
Photographic Equipment: Discover equipment and materials for Still Life, Landscape, and Portrait photography
Visual Language: Create images using shape, form, texture, tone, colour, composition, and lighting
Post-Production: Manipulate and retouch photos in Adobe Photoshop, including brightness, contrast, colour balance, layers, and filters
Workbook: Keep a record of your photographic ideas, processes, and research

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.
Your progress will be assessed through Q&A, observations, personal learning plans and practical sessions. You'll build a portfolio of coursework using specialist classroom facilities. This course will help you develop new techniques and processes.
