Always wanted to learn the piano? This course is perfect for absolute beginners, or those wanting to refresh their skills. You'll learn the basic principles of piano playing and general musicianship in a fun and creative environment. You'll soon be playing simple tunes and developing your enjoyment of the piano alongside fellow learners.

Course Content

This course covers:
Basic harmony and theory
Developing a repertoire of simple tunes
Developing good posture
How and what to practice

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

This course is open to all.
No specific entry requirements.
Basic music theory knowledge is useful.
Level 1 literacy is an advantage, as handouts will be provided.

Regular attendance is recommended so you can get the most out of the course and not fall behind.

Assessment Methods

There is no formal assessment on this course. You will be able to identify individual goals and reflect on your development. Your tutor will assess your learning and progress during the practical classes.

Please note that this class is taught on electronic keyboards rather than pianos (one keyboard per learner).
