Want to play the piano without the stress of reading music? This course focuses on developing your natural musical ear. You'll learn to play by listening and responding to sounds, building confidence and enjoying the process. This course is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the joy of playing piano in a relaxed and supportive environment. Discover your musical potential and unlock a new way to express yourself!

Course Content

This course covers:
Keyboard Identification: Correct identification of different keyboards (electric and acoustic pianos) and how their pedals function.
Fundamentals: Correct finger and sitting positions with dictation on the white keys.
Scales: Playing two major scales (C and G majors) to enhance technical ability.
Practical Application: Playing hands separately and together in selected songs.
Performance: Informal performance opportunities to build confidence.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Assessment Methods

Your progress will be assessed through observation and participation in class activities. You'll receive ongoing feedback from the tutor to help you improve. After completing this course, you can enrol in Improvers Piano by Ear for Wellbeing in the following term to continue developing your skills.
