You will experience a combination of standing, sitting, and floor exercises. You will learn to engage your core and improve your posture. You will also benefit from a gentle yet continuous form of exercise that promotes overall well-being.

How to use correct breathing techniques during exercise
Exercises to strengthen major muscle groups
Learning to use muscles efficiently
Toning the body as a whole
Relaxation
Mobilisation of joints

You should be reasonably healthy and mobile.
You should have one year's previous experience of Pilates, unless specifically referred by a previous tutor.
Your progress will be assessed through tutor observation and self-evaluation. This course can lead to further advanced Pilates classes or other fitness and well-being courses.
Mats are provided by the college. Please bring a towel and wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may also wish to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
