Do you want to deepen your printmaking skills? This course is designed for students with some printmaking experience, whether you're continuing from another course or looking for a refresher. You'll build on your existing knowledge and explore new techniques to create unique prints. This course will help you develop your ideas from design to print, enhancing your creative practice. Please note this course is not suitable for complete beginners.

Course Content

This course covers:
Printmaking Processes: Monotypes, relief printmaking, and screenprinting.
Design to Print: Taking your design from initial concept to processing the plate or screen.
Image Creation: Printing your image and developing your work from your own ideas and designs.
Inspiration: Exploring relevant exhibitions, websites, and the work of other printmakers.
Studio Visits: Occasional trips to a professional printmaking studio (organised by the tutor).

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Previous experience in printmaking is necessary.
Enthusiasm for developing and exploring new skills is essential.
No formal qualifications are required.

Your progress will be assessed through practical application and the development of your printmaking skills.

Additional Information

The course fees include printing inks, printing mediums, emulsions and solvents. Students are required to provide their own drawing and preparatory equipment. A range of specialist printmaking papers are available to purchase from the print room. Printing can be messy so wear appropriate clothing and bring an apron. Bring a note book/sketchbook, drawing materials, masking tape, parcel tape, scalpel. Any specific materials required for processes will be given to you at the first class.
