Are you working on projects or about to start one and need a solid foundation? This introductory workshop will give you the project management principles you need. By the end of this one-day workshop, you'll be able to manage projects effectively using proven tools, choose projects that benefit your business, and identify and manage risks. This course is perfect for anyone wanting to learn the basics of project management.
Course Content
This course covers:
Defining a Project: Understanding what makes a project unique; exploring the project lifecycle, creating a business case, the triple constraint (scope, time, cost), the aims grid, and the project charter.
The Project Environment: Identifying and managing stakeholders, establishing project baselines, recruiting and managing the project team (including matrix management), and risk management strategies.
Planning Tools: Using work breakdown structures (WBS), precedence networks, Gantt charts; managing change; cost control techniques; and developing effective communication plans.
Agile Project Management: Introduction to Agile principles and practices for flexible project delivery.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
There are no formal entry requirements.
It is advisable to have a good standard of English and maths.
Attendance Requirements
In line with the College s policies, 100% attendance is required.
Assessment Methods
We will track your progress through practical exercises and discussions.
