When life gets hard, wouldn't it be nice to have a good book to lean on? Reading can feel like a deep conversation with someone who understands what you're going through. This course explores how reading can help you navigate life's challenges. You'll discover how poems and short stories can help you relax, boost your mood, and cope better. This online course is for anyone seeking solace and support through literature.
Course Content
Each week in this interactive online course, we will read and discuss a few pieces of short text. The selection will feature a wide range of writers from different eras. It will include poetry, fiction and non-fiction. Discussion will take place in a group of up to 11 students. All reading materials will be provided.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Assessment Methods
There is no formal assessment.
By the end of the course you will have explored ways to improve your relaxation and life coping skills. You should become more able to use reading as a form of self-care. You can also expect to enjoy reading as a private and social activity. Plus you may gain more confidence to share your views.
