Want to unlock your artistic potential? This course offers a wide range of drawing and painting techniques for both beginners and those with some experience. In a friendly and supportive environment, you'll build your skills and confidence. We'll guide you to "see" in a new way, helping you master any subject you wish to draw or paint.
Course Content
This course covers:
Drawing exercises: Line and shape, proportion, object and surround, composition and tonality using mainly still life set ups, the occasional human model and drawing plain air, if the weather allows.
Colour: The use of colour will be included after half term.
Media: Pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, pastels and acrylic paint.
Colour mixing: Explore colour mixing at length and you will be able to define hue, value and saturation.
Personalised exercises: Focused exercises geared towards your level of ability will be given followed by with room for experimentation and taking your drawing/painting further.

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Assessment Methods
Each session will conclude with informal, supportive group critiques, giving you the opportunity to share your work and receive constructive feedback. Throughout the course, your tutor will provide individual verbal feedback as you work on projects and participate in discussions.
