Do you love playing or singing music and want to improve your skills? This course is designed for you! You'll benefit from our expert tutors and extensive resources. Whether you're a returning student or new to RHACC, you're welcome here. You'll learn by playing and singing in jazz ensembles, attending rhythm workshops, joining jam sessions, and even performing live. Develop your technique, confidence, and improvisation skills in a supportive and creative environment. Courses include Jazz Singing, Jazz Vocal Performance, and instrumental tuition on a wide range of instruments.

Course Content

This course covers:
Theory and Improvisation Workshops
Ensemble groups
Instrumental classes
Improvisation workshops
Big Band session
Vocal and Instrumental Master class workshops

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

This course is suitable for all levels of ability, providing an intensive, enjoyable, and challenging experience.
This course is not suitable for complete beginners on your instrument.
After enrolment, you will be contacted to complete an information sheet. This helps us create balanced ensembles and groups based on your experience.
Enrolling at least one day before the first class helps us plan a stimulating and tailored course for you. Late enrolments are accepted.

First Class Requirements

Instrument, notebook, pencil and music stand if you own one.

Attendance Requirements

Good attendance throughout the week will help you get maximum benefit from the course.

Assessment Methods

This course is about developing your love and enjoyment of Jazz. You may wish to identify personal goals for the course. Your tutors will support you and reflect on your progress with you.

Additional Information

Each day runs from approximately 10:00 to 17:00. The course includes a wide range of activities. There is an emphasis on developing material for performance opportunities. Evening jam sessions are also included.
