Tap Dance - Improvers

Want to take your tap skills to the next level? This course is perfect for you! Building on the basics, you'll expand your repertoire of steps and start working on more complex dances. If you've completed a beginners tap class or have some experience, this is your chance to develop your skills and confidence on the dance floor.

Course Content

This course covers:
New tap steps to expand your repertoire
Posture, balance, and timing techniques
Choreography to put your new skills into practice

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Some experience of tap dance is needed to get the most from this course.
You may have completed the tap beginners class at RHACC or a similar level elsewhere.

First Class Requirements

Tap shoes, clothes suitable to dance in, water

Attendance Requirements

Good attendance will enable you to pick up the dance as we learn is sequentially, a part each week.

Assessment Methods

There are no formal assessments, but you'll see your progress as you learn new steps each week. Regular attendance will help you keep up with the choreography. After this course, you could consider more advanced tap classes or other dance styles.

Further Study Options

You may to continue for another term or more of the improvers class to consolidate your skills

Additional Information

You will need tap shoes for this class. Talk to your tutor for advice on buying new shoes. Please bring comfortable clothes suitable for dancing and a bottle of water.
