Want to create your own unique jewellery? This course teaches you the traditional wax techniques for carving and casting metal. You'll learn how to transform wax into beautiful jewellery pieces. This course is perfect for beginners and those with some jewellery experience who want to explore wax carving and casting. By the end of the day, you'll have the skills to design and create your own stunning jewellery.

Course Content

This course covers:
Lost Wax Method: Introduction to the lost wax method used in jewellery casting.
Wax Modelling and Carving: Learn how to model, carve, and mould wax for casting.
Lost Wax Casting Process: Casting wax into silver using the lost wax casting process.
Cuttlefish and Sand Casting: Casting silver using cuttlefish and sand casting techniques.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

No prior qualifications are required.
An interest in learning a jewellery technique is essential.
Existing jewellery experience is welcome, but not required.

First Class Requirements

The cost of essential materials are included in the fee, including tools, cuttlefish and wax which are all provided in the class. However, please note that there will be an additional charge for the cost of silver used which is above and beyond the essential materials supplied on the day.

Attendance Requirements

Full attendance and punctuality is required for this course.

Assessment Methods

Your progress will be assessed through observation and practical work during the session. We encourage you to explore our other jewellery courses to further develop your skills.
