Desiree Shepherd

Ever since she was young, Desiree has had a heart for her community and creating opportunities of provision for those in need. Co-founder of three charities - one in South Africa and two in the UK, Richmond Upon Thames - Desiree is a community connector, passionate about building meaningful networks across different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.

Cornelia Costeanu

Cornelia Costeanu believes that having a sewing machine is the best investment! She currently owns 4, one of which is a 1955 Singer sewing machine, one of the first electric ones, still in pristine condition.

The admiration for sewing machines and a passion for sharing her skills with the community, has lead Cornelia to winning a few community awards as well establishing a social enterprise.

Makers United, her social enterprise, was born from the desire to create a community of local makers and to facilitate easy access to advice on how to set up a small crafting business.

Makers United’s future vision is to train makers to become tutors as well as to promote the benefits of making wares by hand on our wellbeing.

Susie Bush-Ramsey

Susie is a creative designer and a former international athlete. She launched an illustrated and narrated wellbeing programme in 2021, to help people create a simpler, more satisfying life. Due to the covid pandemic at the time, she opted to offer the programme for free and promoted it by hanging wooden tags outside cafes and restaurants, with hand-written encouraging messages for people to sign-up in SW London.  The programme is now offered as a face-to-face workshop locally It has also been shared with vulnerable women around the UK as a handbook and most recently digitally. Content from the programme formed the basis for two children's storybooks 'You're so amazing' and 'You're so strong' which she co-wrote and illustrated with Global Head of Wellbeing for ParkRun and Ironman world record-holder, Chrissie Wellington OBE.
