RHACC Celebrates Black History Month #SalutingOurSisters

This year's Black History Month theme is "Saluting our Sisters/Sisterhood'', to which we will offer a great range of activities, events and more to celebrate this historic occasion.
Around college:
- SEND learners creating and displaying brightly coloured Black women through time in the Link area in celebration of Black History Month
- Black Women Icons - displayed around college depicting black women who have transformed society.
- Celebrating Black Voices event includes a performance by staff and RHACC learners in the Link/Theatre which showcases art around the college through poetry readings, spoken word, singing, dancing and ends with an exhibition (TBC)
In class action:
- Art and Creative Technologies - Learning about diverse, aspirational role models in connection to their practices.
- Creative Writing - Organising a range of poetry workshops in celebration of Maya Angelou
- Childcare/Teaching - Classes have been taking part in activities where learners share cultural backgrounds
- ESOL - There are lots of activities currently happening to celebrate popular festivals like Kwanzaa, Diwali, Ramadan, Hanukkah and more
