INTRODUCTION
The demand for SPEAR's services is increasing. SPEAR is needed as much today as 30 years ago when founded by Penny Wade.
Our 30thAnniversary event is not just a celebration of those we have supported from Homelessness to Independence, but also recognises the tremendous hurdles we have faced together with all of our supporters to help those most vulnerable over the last 30 years. Our founder's words, 'No-one should die because they don't have a home' are still just as relevant today.
ABOUT THE ANNIVERSARY EVENT
We are delighted to welcome you, our supporters to our 30th Anniversary event – 30 Years of Changing Lives' taking place in the beautiful screening room of Richmond Adult Community College (RACC). This event will take you on a journey back through time of how work with the homeless sector has adapted through changing times.
Through a multi-media presentation, panel and invited guests we will consider how the homeless sector has evolved and developed and take you, our audience, on a creative and powerful journey of reflection.
We will also debate wider creative and thought provoking influences on homelessness from the past to present such as Ken Loach, Tony Garnett (Cathy Come Home, 1966) (I Daniel Blake, 2016), Daisy-May Hudson (Half-Way, 2015).
We will be holding a lively fundraising auction with a whole range of prizes to bid on from the most exclusive to those which have wide appeal.
Tickets will include a fabulous buffet and refreshments. There will also be a pay bar.
With your support, we want to ensure we can still be here for those that need us in the future so together, we can continue our journey from Homelessness to Independence.
