RHACC Celebrates Learner Achievements in Annual Awards Ceremony

RHACC celebrated the endeavour and achievements of their learners at their annual Adult Learner Awards last week. RHACC Principal Gabe Flint, alongside guest of honour Sarah Olney MP of Richmond Park, joined the proud learners and their families for the awards ceremony. The tutors who have supported and nominated were also in attendance to celebrate their learners. It was a joyous event and a very uplifting end to the academic year.

RHACC Principal Gabe Flint said “We were delighted to be back onsite and able to celebrate this special event in person this year. This award ceremony is very important to us – it allows us time in our busy year to stop and focus on the wonderful work and achievement of our students and their teachers at RHACC.”

There were eight different awards categories with the following winners:

Creative Skills Award Winner – Jackie Jeromson

There was a new category introduced this year, My Learning Journey, which allowed learners to self-nominate to recognise the progress they have made and the impact their learning has had on their life. Martin Coppola, a RHACC SEND learner won this award after he came back into education after 40 years and joined a course to prepare him for work.

The main award of the evening, RHACC Learner of the Year, went to Naomi Pritchard who studied Access to HE Health and Human Sciences. Naomi faced a number of challenges during her time of study, including being a carer and sole provider for her family. Despite this Naomi submitted assignments on time and even before deadlines, achieving distinctions in all her grades. Naomi’s determination and positive attitude throughout her studies is why she stood out as the winner of this award. Following the success of her course achievements, Naomi’s next step is to study occupational therapy at St George’s University of London.

Gabe Flint concluded the awards congratulating all the winners and nominees on their achievements and gave a heartfelt thank you to RHACC team who put their learners first and help to fulfil their potential.

The evening was brought to a close with the Parkshot Singers and Raccateers giving amazing musical performances in The Link following the ceremony.
