RHACC Students Received Their GCSE Results

Over half a million learners celebrated their GCSE results on 12 August. This is the second year that exams have been cancelled and teachers have had to grade with a range of evidence including mocks, mini exams and coursework assessment. Many of our RHACC GCSE students came to our Parkshot Campus to collect their results and talk about their experiences:

Tirion Emma Puddy – Grade 9 Biology

‘I work for a Blue Cross animal hospital and I needed GCSE Biology to get a place on the Apprenticeship in Veterinary Nursing. I am thrilled to get a grade 9 and I am grateful for all the incredible support I received at the College. Once I complete my apprenticeship, I will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse, so this is the beginning of an exciting career journey for me.’

Terina Gjoni – Grade 8 English

‘I have only been in the UK for three years and my first course at RHACC was ESOL level 1, so to get a grade 8 in English is something I’m very proud of. =Now I have passed, I plan to apply for a Masters Degree in Business Administration.’

Josiane Rodrigues Da Silva Buckeridge - Grade 7 Chemistry

'I started at RHACC studying Functional Skills and I progressed to GCSE Maths and English. Despite the lockdown, my teaching has been great and I have really enjoyed chemistry. I am now planning to take GCSE Biology and then Access to HE in Science.’

Maritza Olivo – Grade 6 English

‘English is not my first language, so I am very proud to achieve this result. It was a challenge studying online, but my teacher Nicky was so enthusiastic and supportive and I have developed a real love for reading and writing. I want to continue at RHACC and study Access to HE in Humanities and Social Science.’

Charles Ashford – Grade 5 Maths

I want to teach English, but I failed my GCSE Maths at school and I needed a pass to enrol on a PGCE course. The last year has been hard work, but my tutor at RHACC has been fantastic and I am now going to Roehampton University.’

Rachael Firmian – Grade 5 Maths, Grade 7 Biology & Grade 8 English

‘I have fitted my studies around parenting. I am delighted that my hard work has paid off and I am now planning to enrol on the Access to Health and Human Sciences at RHACC.’
