Do you want to improve your English speaking skills for everyday life and work? This ESOL Level 1 course is designed to build your confidence and help you communicate more effectively. You'll learn to express your opinions, ask questions, and share personal information with ease. This course is perfect for adults looking to improve their English and gain a qualification that can open doors to new job opportunities. Learn from experienced teachers in a supportive, adult-only environment.

Course Content

This course covers:
Build confidence in speaking
Practice communicating with others in different situations
Build your language and vocabulary to communicate better
Ask and answer questions in different situations
Give your opinions on various topical issues
Give your personal information
Develop your study skills and improve your confidence in your general English language skills.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

We offer courses at all levels, from complete beginner to Level 2.
You will need to take an English language assessment before starting the course. This helps us place you at the right level.

First Class Requirements

Please bring a folder to keep your work in, a black or blue pen, and a lined notepad of paper.

Attendance Requirements

To successfully complete this course, you must commit to 100% attendance and punctuality.

Assessment Methods

Your teacher will assess your progress throughout the course. If you're ready, you can enrol on an examination course next term to gain a formal qualification.

Further Study Options

After this course, you can continue to study on our ESOL Reading, Speaking & Listening or Writing courses.

You can progress through the ESOL levels up to Level 2.

When you have finished your ESOL course you may want to progress into the wider programme offer at RHACC including Cambridge Certificate courses, GCSE English courses and our range of vocational and leisure courses.

We will also provide support with applying to university and careers guidance to help you decide on your options following the completion of the programme.
