Entry Requirements

For your application to be considered you must be 18 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date

You should have a grade C/4 or above at GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) gained within the last five years.
If you don't have these qualifications, you can still apply and provide evidence of other qualifications.
All applicants will take a screening test in Maths and English.
You should be able to write fluently and understand business materials.
You will be interviewed to ensure the course is right for you.
Access courses are designed for learners aged 19 and above.
We may consider applications from 18-year-olds in individual circumstances, requiring a full-time study programme including work experience, tutorials, and enrichment activities.

Attendance Requirements

Regular attendance of 100% (apart from exceptional circumstances) is needed to ensure that you are able to cover all of the course content and assessment successfully.

Every 6 weeks all learners will be given a formal tutorial at which your continuation, progress and attendance will be reviewed.

Assessment Methods

You'll be continually assessed through coursework, case studies, reports, and projects. This is an intensive course with around 15 assignments in your final portfolio. Regular attendance and meeting deadlines are essential. Expect to dedicate around 10 hours per week to independent study. Successful completion allows you to progress to university or pursue employment in the creative industries.

Further Study Options

Completing this course allows you to apply for university degree courses. One big advantage of this course is that you can complete it in a much shorter time than A-levels.

Many students progress onto their chosen field of study at university, with others progressing into employment or into an apprenticeship related to their course of study. In 223, access learners received offers from a range of universities, including from Brunel, Goldsmiths, Sheffield, Bournemouth, St Mary s, Queen Mary, University of the Arts London, University of Creative Arts, Greenwich, Ravensbourne, Kingston, Westminster and Portsmouth. For Creative and Digital Media learners, this has included offers in Film Production, Games Design, Branding, Media Production, Public Relations, Creative Robotics and Visual Communications.
