Why Study This Course?
Rhythmic awareness is a crucial component to proficient musical expression. In this course you will have the opportunity to develop your sense of time and rhythm as well as your instrumental and ensemble skills.

You will benefit from weekly rhythm development sessions in which you will study and perform various rhythmic concepts and exercises which you will then incorporate into your performance of jazz repertoire focussing on African and Latin styles.
Rehearsal sessions will develop your sense of rhythm and time as well as your instrument, reading and improvisation skills. They will also enhance your understanding of ensemble playing and African and Latin jazz styles.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
First Class Requirements
Percussion instruments will be provided.
Assessment Methods
Informal feedback will be given by the tutor to help you develop your skills and understanding.
