Ready to take your jewellery making to the next level? This course is designed for those with some experience who want to expand their skills and explore new techniques. You'll learn to work with silver, set stones, carve wax models, and create your own unique designs. Perfect for improvers looking to refine their craft and create stunning pieces.
Course Content
This course covers:
Working with silver: Learn techniques for manipulating and shaping silver
Stone setting: Master the art of creating settings and securely setting cabochon stones
Wax carving: Design and carve rings and pendants from wax, ready for casting
Chain making: Produce your own unique chain and create a bracelet
Adding colour and texture: Explore different finishes and techniques to add visual interest to your pieces
Personal projects: Design and create your own jewellery pieces with guidance from the tutor
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
This course is not suitable for beginners.
Previous jewellery design and making skills are essential.
First Class Requirements
A cloth apron, sketchbook, pens & pencils, examples of your work, and ideas for your first project
Attendance Requirements
Good attendance is of benefit to you, but absences obviously do occur
Assessment Methods
There are no formal assessments. You'll receive verbal feedback on your progress throughout the course, with guidance on how to improve your techniques.
