Do you want to take your jazz guitar playing to the next level? This three-day Summer Jazz Guitar Intensive, taught by Mike Outram, is perfect for guitarists with at least two years of experience. You'll deepen your understanding of chords, scales, and melodies, and gain practical playing experience. This course will help you develop your accompaniment and improvisation skills, expanding your musical knowledge and confidence.
Course Content
This course covers:
Learning songs, improvisation, and accompaniment skills
Playing songs around the class
Fingerboard knowledge e.g. scales, arpeggios, chords
Practice period for you to work on that material
Short Q&A and feedback session
Playing songs around the class
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
You must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.
This course is not for beginners.
Level 1 literacy is an advantage.
First Class Requirements
You will need your own Guitar and, if possible a small amplifier.
Attendance Requirements
Attendance throughout the course will help you gain maximum benefit.
Assessment Methods
There is no formal assessment. Your tutor will assess your learning and progress through practical exercises. You'll identify individual goals and reflect on your development. RHACC offers a range of jazz courses to further your musical journey.
