‘To me photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.’
(Elliot Erwitt)
Often the most interesting photography invokes a reaction or emotion; it asks questions. Like good art it tells a story and communicates more than just capturing memories or moments.
During this intense period of lock down most of us have had to spend much more time in our own homes than we perhaps are used to. This enforced 'isolation' has for many of us been a time to re-evaluate our homes, our relationships, our lives. It has given us the opportunity to see things from a different perspective.
The idea behind this series of photographs is to produce images of ordinary mundane objects or situations in an extraordinary way; to see them from a different perspective.
