Why Study This Course?
If you’re a recorder player who enjoys making music in a friendly environment, or perhaps you’d like to get back into playing recorder after a long break or even explore playing the recorder as an additional instrument, this consort is for you.
Benefits and unique features of the course:
The consort is a new group which will adapt and grow with its students. The tutor is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable musician We will approach a wide variety of repertoire, with input / suggestions from students
Course Content:
• Exercises and techniques to improve your playing, such as breath control and articulation
• Simple musical theory in order to understand and access the music more fully
• Repertoire for various combinations of instruments, from renaissance classics to fun arrangements o Ensemble skills and musicianship o Historically informed playing: style, ornaments
How will you Learn?
• We will learn together as an ensemble, while also taking note of individual parts
• We will take the learning at a gentle pace, adapted to suit the group for each new term and each new piece
• Learning resources such as recordings and rehearsal soundfiles will be created and available on TEAMS

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
