Ceramics Handbuilding - Beginners/Improvers
Want to get creative with clay? This course introduces you to ceramic handbuilding techniques, whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience. You'll explore different clays, glazes, and decorating methods to create unique ceramic pieces, from functional items to sculptural art. This course will help you develop your artistic skills and express your creativity in a supportive environment. Please note there is an additional cost of approx. £50 - £100 for materials on this course.
Introduction to Sewing & Clothesmaking
Learn the essentials of machine sewing in this beginner-friendly course. You’ll gain
confidence threading a machine, winding a bobbin, and troubleshooting common stitch
errors while practicing key techniques producing straight seams, zig-zag finishes, and
zipper insertion. Alongside developing practical sewing skills, you’ll get familiar with
essential pattern terminology and fabric choices, learning how to read symbols on
commercial patterns and select suitable materials per project. By the end of the course,
you’ll complete 1-2 simple sewing projects - such as a tote bag, cushion cover, ½ scale
skirt or zipper bag - leaving with a strong foundation of skills to continue on your sewing
journey.
Introduction to Portrait Sculpture
Want to explore the art of sculpting the human form? This course is perfect for beginners and those with some experience. You'll learn techniques for sculpting the figure in clay from a life model, using both precise measurements and expressive approaches. Discover how to create studies, hollow and fire your sculptures, and experiment with different finishes. This course will help you develop your artistic skills and create unique, expressive sculptures.
Accessibility
Our college is fully accessible with ramps and lift facilities for wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties. There are nine disabled spaces on site (three at front, three at rear of the main building and three under the Annex building) and a drop-off area at the front of the building.
ViewTaster: Experimental Analogue Photography Workshop

Artists and scientists have been capturing images using light way before then. This taster session will bring you on a 200-year journey through photography's history and introduce you to some of the earliest camera-less processes.
Far from being outdated, these alternative analogue photographic printing practices are experiencing a significant come-back, both due their appealing visual qualities and to the fact that they are more sustainable and environment-friendly
